SURINDER RAMETRA, a scholar, entrepreneur and philanthropist, founded Sun Computers & Software, Inc. in 1983 as a single retail store and guided its growth to ultimately ringing the opening bell on the American Stock Exchange as the company went public under the name Advance Technology Group (ATEC) in 1994. He retired in 2003, and currently serves as a trustee and Board member of numerous well-established international businesses and charitable organizations, including a few he takes great pride in being the founder member.
Rametra has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Punjab Engineering College, India, a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), India and an MBA in Finance from New York University (NYU). Surinder resides in New York with his wife and is blessed with five grandchildren from his three children.
